Potty woes
we started potty training Matt when he turned 2. i must say it's no smooth sailing... everything fall in place by itself.. or just a natural transition stage of a toddler development. the journey took us few months of patience and endurance. it's a challenge to daddy, mummy as well as babysitter and total resentment from little Matthew.
whenever we put him - not only on but anywhere near the potty, he will close up and hold in as long as he can. we try coaxing, bribing and even threatening but to no avail.. he is as stubborn as can be.

eventually we decided to leave him alone from the potty but we also do away with the diaper. yes, we let him wet himself and even poo in his pant. Gross as it may sounds but that's the turnaround... key to our little victory.
little Matt is a hygienic boy in nature. he can't even stand sticky fingers or muddle shirts after a meal, not to mention wet or soiled pants now. he learnt fast that potty will save his day and finally welcome it into his life after only a few days of trial..

I know what you mean, when Damien finally uses the potty out of his own will, it really makes our day!

Oh man, does it mean I have to use the same trick as Zara? I'm a hygene freak as well!
Zara is still refusing to sit on the potty for poos, but prefer to stand and poo in her diaper when coax.. if I have to resort to your method, I wonder if I'll survive.
Yeah, Mathew is very good looking. Can I book for Zara? Hee Hee..

surprisingly that he is quite okay with me photographing him on his potty. in both occasion, he is peeing and i have to capture the moment fast. i'm lucky that both snaps turned out rated "U"- universal:P

Zara' mama,
the trick was actually passed on to me by my best friend. according to her, it's effective and well tested.
the good news is every kids react to potty training differently. Brandon somehow enjoy sitting on the potty just for the sake of doing so (with his pants on)- should post some of the snaps someday.
with Zara look, she will have no problem finding a suitor, including Matthew
my girl uses the potty to weewee but when she wants to poo she likes to do it in her diapers and its only at home. In the nursery, she poo and wee on a potty. Gee I wonder whyyyyyyyyy. If I let her go without diapers for a day, as soon as she's on diapers when she's about to go to sleep, she will poo in it. Aiyaya!
that made me laugh. kids are so unpredictable.
