A Hidey
when the 'sort of big plan' was called off, hubby and I decided that we should make good use of time available to give the baby room a face-lift... turning it into a play areas for the kiddies.
no extravagant slides or swings...just a cozy corner for the kiddies... where toys are easily accessible...a hide-away...out of the grown-ups view...where the children rule...
the end-result is nothing fancy but everything cozy....
on the kids first discovery....they are loving it already...
besides the kiddies, mummy gain the most out of it. i will just snug lazily at one corner and read a book while overseeing the kiddies play. Bliss.
surely it's my little hidey now.
well, i'm sure the kids know where to find me....

it's simple DIY only-lah- put up some shelves, reshuffle some furnitures.. no real skill required!

i do have a "before" photo of the room in a back-up cd but no longer in my pc... basically, it's more like a nursery previously...the shelves of toys used to be a changing mat (wihout the shelves of course), which the kids have outgrown and the rest is additional storage and re-arrangement.
with my hubby help, anything is possible...we just need to wake up before the kids awake and sleeps much later after the kids doze off to do the housework... and to use our leave for the major job! that's why we are running on low energy daily and practically no life..ha..ha

whoaa.....so nice lehh...i've used faythe's room for my study LOL...i guess i'll do up a nice room when 2nd one comes around, chuck both of them there :P
Nice room. Good job. I try to do the same for my kids -- snug reading corner, place just for them to play, accesible toys etc.... In the end, room and corner look like a hurricane hit. Chaos took over. Of course constant reminders for them to clean up. I gave up trying to keep it organized eg. musical toys this drawer, masak-masak this drawer etc.... In the end, anything goes. Also resulted in many toys thrown away. With 2 kiddos, sure your room can stay so nice and tidy ah?

to yr surprise, it's harder to get them off our bed when the 2nd one arrive. the elder will get upset that he has to sleep on his own while the lil one is sleeping with mummy and daddy- he is jealous...mummy daddy no longer sayang-leh....etc. etc.
so, it ended Matt is sleeping in btw us and Brad in a cot attached to our bed.
we keep telling ourselves- 6 more mths when Brad turn 2, we are re-vamping the room again and shoo them out of our room ...keeping our fingers cross :P

thanks for dropping by. honestly, kids are too unpredictable for us to be sure of anything :P
picking up stuff after the kids is our daily exercise and we don't expect it to stop soon. the room is more for us to have a sanctury to keep the kiddies stuff in a proper manner :)
Ur kids do have a very comfortable room and with so many stuffed toys.
I'm sure u are a very neat person. How I wish I can do dat with my little girl's room. Her room's full of her furry toys and her bed's filled with her 5 bolsters, 4 pillows, 2 blankets, 1 comforter. I really need to do a 'face-lift' for my girl's room.
WOW!! Nice room! I wished i'm that creative! Hubby is the one who would take time to decorate and touch up Damien's room!:P
