wOOt!
7 days of the brand new year 2008 has swiftly passed by. time really flies....don't even try catching it.
what's up with us?
well, school started again. Matt in his 2nd year at Kindy. towards the end of school holiday, he has been talking about missing school... missing his friends... missing his teacher. to his surprise, he was greeted by a new teacher, a bunch of new classmates and worst of the lot, a new language on the very 1st day of school. yeah, we enrolled him for the mandarin class this year and pardon us, he don't understand mandarin at all.
observing from far, i noticed a lot of 'huh?huh?huh?' expressions from Matt when people tried talking to him. i'm a little worried initially but since then, he has been coming home every school days speaking a little bit more mandarin day after day....and it's my turn to go 'huh?huh?huh?'. yeah, i'm that bad in mandarin. thank god, looks like he is enjoying the new language so far. wOOt to Matt!
and my little 'samseng' joined nursery too. my hubby said, "no worries for the little boy. probably he will act like he owns the school in just a couple of days". ha! he acted like he owns half the school already on the very first day itself. he was so at ease digging up and playing toys, puzzle boards, books... as if at home. he even went next door and borrowed a few more toys from other classes. at least, he has the courtesy to ask the teachers "i borrow, ok?" and he always returned them. wOOt to Brad too!
a dear friend called me a few days ago. she told me a very heart warming story. upon hearing my news (that i had cancer), she wanted to pray for me and yet not sure how to go about it. that's how she ended going back to church, attended bible studies and joined a cell group. she told me that the bible study/cell group of people have been praying for my safety and recovery all this time and will continue to pray for me.
here i am, feeling so grateful to have such kind souls...people who dunno me at all.... wishing me well and praying for my life. i know you are reading my blog and i would like to thank you so much for having me in your thoughts and prayers. and of course thank you Irene for having me in your heart. i believe you all have made the battle easier for me . may GOD bless you all.

btw, I was so stupid, I sat in all of Zara's classes on the 1st 2 days of school, and I forgot to bring my camera. No shots of her. :(
Ah.. I saw the name of the kindy on Brad's tag already.
I used to work in a language centre for pre-schooler 15yrs ago, and that was one of the better kindy. Hope they are still as good :)
hehe ...now u can learn mandarin from your kids!
God is great because he surrounds us with sisters and brothers everywhere.
I am no good with mandarin too, hoping my children will teach me someday.

Oh new language, no worry, kids pick up new language real fast.I'm glad that my parent enroll me to mandarin school, but after so many years, some of the words i had forgotten and i think nowadays mandarin is quite tough compare to "my time".

Dear, how are things? Everything ok?
Kids learn fast especially language is not barrier at all to children. I can teach you Chinese but you have to speak the language in order to master it. Woot to all of you!
Cheers to Matt and Brad. My son started kindy too. Champion got along well.. lil' President got excited and wanted to follow his brother.. after two days, he concluded that he prefered to stay home!
