I'm a BIG boy now

we succesfully weaned Brad off breastfeeding last week.

what was expected:
since he usually wakes up during the night for comfort breastfeeding, we expect MANY sleepless night trying to console a crying tot before he give up.

indeed he woke up crying unconsolably for 2 nights in a row. we tried to hug...to carry him ...but nothing works. he practically cried himself to sleep. poor chap.

what was NOT expected:
on the third night, he didn't wake up crying and actually slept thru' the whole night. 2 nights is all it takes...hmmmm

what was TOTALLY unexpected:
the next morning, as i was carrying the half sleepy fella to my car to drop them to my babysitter, he suddenly said "mummy, put me down". i put him down and curiously asked "why?"

"I'M A BIG BOY ALREADY, I DIDN'T DRINK MUMMY NIEN NIEN"

we always used this "BIG BOY" concept when we tried to persuade him to stop breastfeeding. we will say "Brad is big boy already and no need to drink mummy nien nien and he always replied "no, i'm not big boy..i'm a baby..i want AH-Mee nien".

wow, he think he is a big boy now because he didn't ask for mummy nien nien last night and deserve to walk beside me holding my hand instead of being carried. so sweet. i know you are proud of yourself and mummy is proud of you too.

hey little fella,
every once in a while, i'll kind of miss the baby you were, but even more, i adore the sweet little boy you're becoming!

dear lb,
actually -er, let just say- nature has its way :)

dear ZMM,
i stop wearing nursing bra after a year and a half (hate those). i swtich to bras without padding and underwire instead but have to frequently change them due to spoilage.

dear huisia,
actually i really enjoy his babyhood and kinda miss it at time.

dear mom2ashley,
thanks. kids are the merry of the house. they provide the most potent supplement of happiness.

dear jazzmint,
yep :)

I am soooo glad to chuck my nursing bras away after 3 years!! Had a lovely time shopping for normal, pretty bras!

Though, there are still times when I wish I could just nurse his tears away...

So now you are back in action?? :)
