something about Matt's school

yes, Matt is attending chinese school and yes also, the parents know next to nothing about mandarin.

that's why we send Matt for tuition classes. for simpler stuff, sometimes we make use of BESTA, which is quite handy.

no, i don't think we are 'kiasu' parents. if anytime Matt is unhappy, we won't hesitate to stop his tuition or even pull him out of chinese school. but i do think it's okay for Matt to rough it out a little so long he is not unhappy.

there is this monument..pillar..slab.. not-sure-what-to-call it.. in the school compound that i don't remember seeing it 6 months ago.

not sure what's the purpose except that it does give a nice feel and scenery to the compound.

underneath the monument, there is a cool koi fish pond. my first re-action was, "omg! is it safe for kids running around a pond without supervision?"

but then of course, we are talking about kids 7 years and above. the water is shallow.

it was a sunny saturday (few weeks back) and Matt's school sports day. Matt is not a sporty boy, so, he didn't really participate in any of the events but we hanged out a bit at his school.

i was wearing my favorite favorite cap. a gift from a dearie friend on my birthday. not in my best of health that day but i'm always reminded to 'livestrong' and to live in everyday life.

I think kids are probably 'tougher' than we think they are.

I came from a Chinese school, and never felt I was pressured.

What a nice school he's in... and the mummy looks so hot! Phew Weet.

i am surprised that the school actually looks quite nice.

i will be in the same boat as you if i send ashley to a chinese school - both hubs and i dont speak mandarin!
