A mister Paddy's story
inspired by big boy albie affinity to cindy moo and little Zara fondness of Boo & Nam, i have a story to tell about mister Paddy too.

mister Paddy migrated from London to join our humble family. though we never mistreated him, mister Paddy sits quietly up on a shelf not getting the attention that he deserve...especially that he has traveled long and far.

so, i invited mister Paddy to have a little playtime with the 2 little fellas. unfortunately, the 2 little fellas went on nonchalantly with their activities...totally ignoring mister Paddy... until mummy said, "hey boys, mister Paddy here wants to play and to be sayang (loved) too"

hearing the words "sayang", lil Matt instantaneously picked up mister Paddy for a peck on the lips. being the younger brother that copycats almost everything that the big brother do or say, lil Brad wants a piece of mister Paddy too and he ensured that mister Paddy gets more than just a kiss...

mister Paddy received a big SUCK and a WET NOSE from lil Brad.
moral of the story....i really need to stop breastfeeding....
well, that's a colourful illustration of my quandary. lil Brad is already 21 months old and thinking of a rational mind would say it's time to stop breastfeeding but can one stay rational when their children go for a full-fledge tantrum, the lil Oscar's award winning style when refuse something they so attached to?
would you heartlessly stand firm, unwavering to your child pitiful weeping?

Aw.. that Mister Paddy is soooo cute! I wouldn't mind having one too. The Paddington bears are all very nicely made.. I should have brought one home too but when you were a student, it cost way too much.
Back to your topic, Brad was sucking Mister Paddy like a breast? Or maybe he was just giving him a wet kiss (which I think most younger kids do).
I saw your comment in MyLittleChampion's blog, how do you breastfeed him while driving? :O Boy oh boy.
To wean or not to wean? I really don't know. In my case, I really am not quite ready. If you are, and since he's almost 2, maybe you should. You'll have to endure a few days of crying I'm sure.
Good luck! Keep us posted on the progress!
dear zara's mama,
mister Paddy was bought in 2003 when we re-visited London again..esp for lil Matt.
Brad was not sucking on mister Paddy but like you say, he is just giving him a wet kiss..the pix looks convincing tho'
i breastfeed him with one hand on the wheel and the other hand supporting his head while he lay down on my lap...must stay it's a stunt. that's why my hubby try to come back early nowadays so that we can pick up the kids together.
i guess i'm fine to wean him off but just can't cope with his pitiful crying...
will do, will definitely post the progress...if there is any.
Salute u!!...can BF till 21th mth!!
the wet kiss is cute....good shot!
Nice pictures...
Very few can maintain consistantly breast feeding for so many months, you must be very proud of yourself.
I know what you are going through with the "I guess I should wean" thing. I told myself the same thing when my boy turned 2. Sad to say I have failed miserably in holding to my word. He has won the battle. Hehehe. Nevermindlah, if it's not hurting/disturbing/annoying anyone then just wait it out I guess. Constantly convince yourself it's a priviledge.
when i weaned ashley off bf (althoough i bfed for only 3 months) i felt guilty. I know...3 months is nothing to shout about but something is better than nothing i suppose.
that's a really cute paddy bear.....i recently bought some paddy bear books for ashley...
what??? you bf while driving??????? whoa! hats off to you!
Very nice pic, so sweet. You so 'geng', and your children should very proud to have you.
For me, i just BF 6 months for my son and 2 months for my twins. After stop BF, still remember the time when nurse my son and twins.
dear sambal-belancan,
i would say good riddance. what you keep should be what you want to have or to remember...
dear jesslyn,
tho' i enjoy bf my son but somehow, it's no longer my call when to stop....
dear king's wife,
thank you...i like his wet kisses for me esp..
dear ricket,
tho' i enjoy bf my son but i'm not proud. i actually make a mess- firstly, i didn't train him properly to drink his milk from a bottle and i have to spoonfeed him his milk now. secondly, he still wakes up for nightfeeding...
dear lian,
thanks for the supportive words. i guess you are right that the kid is making the call now...
dear mom2ashley,
i bf my elder son for 2 months++ only..yeah, i felt guilty too. that's why i'm compensating my guilt on my 2nd son...
my hubby caught up with work, so, i just pulled my stunt of bf while driving today...some more it's raining..some more the traffic is bad...some more i have airbag in my car.. i keep reminding myself that it's too dangerous but i give in everytime..
dear 1+2 mom,
you just remind me that the memories will be so sweet...thank you.
Lovely paddinton bear, the pic with lil brad kissing the bear was really sweet:)
And i salute you for being able to BF while driving...COOL....:)
That's a cute Paddington bear. I bought paddington pants and top for bb once but his fav is still Winnie the Pooh.:)
Lil Brad looks so cute in that pic. He has got very Chinese eyes. "mei mei gan, can be very sexy"
OMG! What a stunt!
I am quite cruel and stern sometimes. I had let him cried half an hr before until he stopped and crawled to me and slept.
I love the photos, as always... can't help you with the breastfeeding though.. :-(
dear blurblur,
I associate Paddington bear with England and mr. Paddy is part of our memory of London.
driving and bf is not recommended at all time. it worries me all the time...
dear allyfeel,
Brad eyes used to be smaller in his babyhood..the little china man.
i like the way you handle BB- stern and clear...toughen up the boy a bit..a lot for me to learn.
dear albie,
thank you. wrt to bf, i can't help myself too...i'm taking it one day at a time..
