Chinese New Year quickies...
this is so anti-climax. my X'mas posting was put up way after the actual celebration and now, my CNY posting was delayed till the whole 15 days were over. no, it's not on purpose. the previous postponement were due to technical issue and as for the past 2 weeks...there were just too much heat, too much food, too much pile-up workloads.....and more seriously, lost for words and inspiration.
however, it's critical for me to post the CNY celebration. otherwise, i can't move forward...my own mental block. so, instead of an elaborate illustration of events...i strip it down to the bare essentials.
Weatherwise
steamy, sticky hot.. hoT.. hOT.. HOT days. the temperature are ferocious. the searing heat and sun soaked climate are so energy sapping....despite all that, we still paused for pleasure...taking in the sunny side of life.

On the go
the whole festive celebration was a giddy blend of running here...running there...running to...running from ...logistic wise.

and also running "AFTER"...kiddies wise.

the cherished moment

for one reason or another, my family have not get-together for a meal in the past 2-3 years... i mean a complete 3 generation family members. this year, we managed to sit 2 tables full.. to feast, to toast and re-kindle our family devotion.
for me, this CNY represents more of a spiritual renewal than a physical one and a definite reaffirmation of family ties. the happiness in my dad's eyes shine thru' that night and he is already planning for the next dinner...with a new addition to the family :)
the lost opportunity

i didn't get to meet up with my best friend. her kids fell ill and we have to postponed our get together. somehow, i have a good feelin' that we have plenty of opportunities this year..bow, wow!!
summing up

our CNY celebration was blandly predictable, boringly repetitive and overwhelmingly overrated but our soul and heart still quietly wish to draw in all that life brings to greet us the same each year.
<**clapping hands, jumping up & down- i finally did it!!!**>
