Been kept BUSY
sorry for the long silence again. i have been kept busy...real busy with the viral invasion into our household.
i started the flu...recovered from it and unfortunately passed it to my hubby and Matt. my hubby went for a full fledged cold which lasted almost a week while Matt was coming down with an on and off runny nose.
and then, someone passed the viral back to me and *ting ting ting- round 2*- i'm backed on the fighting ring with another flu. thank goodness, i recovered pretty quickly. everybody was good until Monday, Matt developed high fever accompanied with chills and shivers.
this photo of Matt all wrapped up in blanket - taken before i feed him his medicine. the next minute, he coughed and vomited right on my face (looks like i might have a round 3). what a mess.
cleaned him up and asked him to stay in bed while i checked on the damage. when i came back in, my son was delirious. he was laughing on its own....
and he was even singing happily.... (and you must be wondering, this evil mummy still taking photos?)
then i realised, he has probably vomited out his medicine. i took his temperature and it read 39.2 celcius. holly molly, we ended up inserting a suppository and the fever came down pretty quickly.
Matt's fever lasted for a good 3 days and finally subsided today but he is still coughing (with phelgm). i think i'm gonna be okay despite having Matt's vomit goo sprayed on my face. however, Brad start to show symptoms of the viral last night. *sigh*-looks like it's not going to end so soon yet.
besides lack of sleep, i'm feeling good...real good. a few weeks off chemo really made an enormous difference especially to my recovery. i starting to regain my strength and energy. i'm able to carry Brad again (yippee)...i last carried him was 5 months ago. how i miss wrapping him up in my arm and it feel so good to do just that. this boy even cheered me on "yeah, mummy got power already". my taste bud came back too and it's such a BIG DEAL just to be able to taste food again.
recently i'm thinking about work, christmas and scrapbooking....found this photo that shows it all- taken last Christmas 2006 of my cubicle at the office
i like my job, my boss and my colleagues. i'm actually looking forward to go back to work in a month time.
CHRISTMAS- my favorite time of the year. just thinking about it make me soooo happy :)
and SCRAPBOOKING, honestly, i can't even conjure up one single layout in the past few months. my creative juice all drained out coping with post cancer diagnosis trauma, surgery and chemo.
however, "ta-dah"
another bag of goodies from the blogger gang. looking at the stash now, make me wants to dive in and scrapbook again. maybe not so soon- gotta clean up the virus contamination in my home first but i'm all hype up again.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! i believe deeply that bloggers are people with passion.
Matt's recent favorite phrase describe it perfectly - "COOL. AWESOME!"

Lets scrapbooking together, I have stopped for a while but forcing myself to do a little...so I have 1-2 new ones. Can't wait to see you again.

Hi Lisa, we've been staying in touch last few days thru SMS but I almost forgot you are fighting a flu coz as usual -- you never ever appear sick. Even at this time you are giving me words of encouragement to cope with my mom's condition. I hope you will recover quickly from the flu and have a well deserved break in Nov before going back to work in Dec. Indeed you deserve to have a big party to welcome you back to work! It is indeed good news to hear that you have begun to take interest in other things again. Takes your mind off unpleasant thoughts.
I like scrapbooking - I can sit down and look at it the whole day!! Hahaha.. but seriously, I can't scrapbook to save my life! But it is really lovely to see a person's love and care go in a beautiful scrapbook.
Maybe you can consider doing that on the side, like how some people bake on festive occasions. (if you do, I will be your first customer!! :D). I can see you have a talent for doing that, from your cubicle pixes and your eye for photography.
I'm waiting for you to recover and get well.. so you can take some shots of my girls.. (I really like your photography skill) or teach me how to take good photographs.

Can't believe that after so long knowing you & the day i sms you..i got the news of your struggle. It was shocking & for a moment...i realise how important our loved ones & friends are...
