gOOd mOrning!

one of the night. watching American Idol. one of the contestants singing a very catchy upbeat song that really took my fancy.
me: "honey, do you know what song is that?"
hub: "no. no idea."

this morning. barely awake.
hub: "hon, got the song that you like". showing me a clip from youtube.
little things that i forgot and yet he remembers.
little things do in fact matter.

a joyous little song on a bright new day :)

"I wanna talk to you."
"The last time we talked, Mr. Smith, you reduced me to tears. I promise you it won't happen again."

Do I attract you? Do I repulse you with my queasy smile? Am I too dirty? Am I too flirty? Do I like what you like?
I could be wholesome I could be loathsome I guess I'm a little bit shy
Why don't you like me? Why don't you like me without making me try?
I tried to be like Grace Kelly But all her looks were too sad So I try a little Freddie Ive gone identity mad!
I could be brown I could be blue I could be violet sky I could be hurtful I could be purple I could be anything you like
Gotta be green Gotta be mean Gotta be everything more
Why don't you like me? Why don't you like me? Why don't you walk out the door!

"Getting angry doesn't solve anything"

How can I help it How can I help it How can I help what you think?
Hello my baby Hello my baby Putting my life on the brink
Why don't you like me Why don't you like me Why don't you like yourself?
Should I bend over? Should I look older just to be put on your shelf?
I tried to be like Grace Kelly But all her looks were too sad So I try a little Freddie Ive gone identity mad!
I could be brown I could be blue I could be violet sky I could be hurtful I could be purple I could be anything you like
Gotta be green Gotta be mean Gotta be everything more
Why don't you like me? Why don't you like me? Why don't you walk out the door!

Say what you want to satisfy yourself But you only want what everybody else says you should want

[x2]
I could be brown I could be blue I could be violet sky I could be hurtful I could be purple I could be anything you like
Gotta be green Gotta be mean Gotta be everything more
Why don't you like me? Why don't you like me? Why don't you walk out the door!

say something please....

i have a feeling if i continue to keep quiet... someone somewhere will think something must have gone wrong with me. another bad chi perhaps. no, please, no. not anymore!

lately i'm kinda fried by the heat and drown in guilt for eating.. munching and nibbling all the forbidden foods. till i can hear my body screaming "DETOX. DETOX" to me. it's so easy to go off track when you are feeling good. simply forgot that i'm still hanging at watch list. blame it on the heat. blame it on the mouse. blame it on chinese new year. too bad, i am to blame.  not that i feel sick.. no, just feel overwhelming with guilt. oh well, went astray a little but back in line now. so, stop harassing me. i'm good now.

a tad bit late but hey, it's not over until the 15th day right?
so, Happy Mousy Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

a mousy request for a mousy year...
Matt: "mom, i want a pet."
Me: "why? your friends at school have pets?"
Matt: "no. not all of them have pet. some have pet but some don't have. i want my own pet."
Me: "ok, what pet do you want?"
Matt: "i want a mouse."
Me: "what? a mouse? can we have fish instead?"
Matt: "ok. i want fish and turtle."
Me: "fish and turtle don't get along. they will fight. can we just have fish?"
Matt: "ok....... yea, mummy is getting me a pet."

he is so damn cute to ask for a pet.... will surely get him some fishes as promised.

Happy belated Valentine's day too.
too many valentines with my hub to count. fingers all up. probably needs to count my toes too. after all this years, it's good just to know he still "lum" me...still "gatal" me and still very into me. love you too honey!

mOsaic JanO8

be warned. this post is not for the faint of heart. a lot of scars. a lot of skin too. for those under 18, please get parental or guardian approval before you proceed.

ok. ok. over exaggerated a little. at least nothing indecently exposed and the scars are not really that horrifying. given quite a number of you are curious about it and during the time before i had my surgeries (both pneumonectomy and chemo port), i searched the internet in vain for a post-surgical scar image. so, this may serve some good for others.

all photos taken Jan 08:

1. pretty cherry blossoms to spice up the festive mood...
2. Matt kindy update. no complaint so far. still prefer to speak in english and not much in mandarin. and goodness me, we have no idea how to help.
3. my chemo port and scar. given all the weight loss after chemo, the port is really obvious now. bulgingly obvious. protruding out of my skin. if you look closer, you can even see the cluster of leftover needle marks. they have to prick my skin with a needle to get to my chemo port and yes, it's painful. they still need to prick it every 2 months for blood test and to flush the port.
4. Brad caught the flu virus last 2 weeks. okay now.
5. attended a dear friend wedding. J&K, just in case you wonder where are all the balloons gone .... my kids have taken some home :) great wedding and really good to see you again.
6. another mirror self portrait.
7. good to be outdoor. some fresh air. and wondering around. must make an effort to do more.
8. the blue doggie, 'my so called girlie stuff' is Brad's sleep buddy now.

9. my major surgical scar. about 7" run paralled to one of the rib bone. it's quite neat actually.... ok. don't stare too long now.
10. whenever i asked Matt, "why? you really think so?" he will replied, " yes, because i think with my brain."
11. Brad nursery update. no complaint. i think he truly enjoys school.
12. my hair. it's sticking up. real funny looking. reminds me of fido dido. need to get some styling product to hold it down.
13. good to get physical. sweat a little. work on the muscles. another must make an effort to do more.
14. this little scar... less than an inch, where they inserted a chest tube to drain fluid and blood right after surgery. about 6" down from the major surgical scar... at my left torso... next to the elbow at pic 9. tiny but worst of the lot. right until now, i still can feel the numbness along the tube site.
15. where is my baby? oh gosh, he has grown up so much. right before my eyes.
16. gong xi gong xi ...

note: you can create your own photos mosaic easily using mosaic maker.

my kids recent fav ... no more Dr Seuss ...

love it when they do things together....
